Netflix and spill?

It was September 2015. Australia was a nation in political turmoil…again. Tony Abbott, our gaffe-happy prime minister, was looking down the barrel of a leadership spill. Tony had provided a rich mine of comedy resources during his time as leader, and the auspol memelords knew that they would never have it this good again. When Tony was unceremoniously deposed from the top job by a far less amusing Malcolm Turnbull, there was only one thing to do – parody the legacy he left behind.

We start with the easy targets – Tone's intriguing fascination with eating raw onions and his boundless capacity to be photographed wearing speedos.

And then we delve further into an insightful commentary on the fragility and uncertainty of the Top Job in Canberra…

And while Canberra collapsed amongst the warring men, the last laugh was left to the women of the world.

So long, and thanks for all the memes, Tony!
